Well folk thanks for all your help. Last night on ancestry the daughter of Elizabeth got in touch with me so we are corresponding and I am awaiting a reply to my last email. The information you have all found for me is great and I have added it all to my search.

Thanks once again. Now I just need to try and find the identity of the man in the photo I uploaded. Maybe iI will or not but I live in hope.

After 1937, less than 0.2% of divorce records survive.

I don't see any Graham marriage.

It's possible that she didn't marry Mr Graham, but just used his name.

Looking at Burnley, where she married Thomas Isherwood -

there were several Graham/Jackson births in Burnley in the 1940s, though of course I can't say if they were her children or not.
1944, 1946, 1947, 1949 and 1950 - you can find them on FreeBMD.

By the time she married Thomas Isherwood, she would have been 59.

On the image of the 1939 Register, the alteration of Elizabeth's name to Graham was made in 1948, and the later alteration to Isherwood in 1972.

I have uploaded photos to keepsakes in the shared media folder hoping someone may recognise them. I have a photo there who I don't know who it is but was in old family photos and one of George banks his son daught in law and grandson.

Yes I worked it out you are right it looks as though Elizabeth is the mother of the son George. I am now looking for a divorce record and remarriage of Elizabeth to a man last name Graham and any other children she may have had.

Well, there's a birth for a George Banks MMN Jackson in 1938. Notice the closed record in 1939.

Thks Rose not sure about daughter lots of family secrets so it makes it all hard to trace etc.

George and Betty look to have had a daughter also. Does this ring a bell?

Knowing he was in Burnley in 1977 might mean his son was also born in that district.

There is a Michael born in Burnley. Parents look be a George Banks, which is promising. Mother is Betty. Could "Barbara" have been Betty?

Yes Gillett was from her first marriage.Adrdess on the death cert is 8 Garswood Close Burnley. but that was back in 1977. I am not sure if his son was from his first wife or from Menai Wynn.

What about looking for the death of George’s wife Menai maybe the son was the informant too then

I see the son's birth on FreeBMD but there's no middle initial to help track him down.

I am looking for any living relatives of my Uncle George Banks born 09/07/1915 at 33 Wesley Road Iron Bridge Shropshire. He married Menai Wynn in 1951 in Haslingden, His first wife was Elizabeth Jackson.
George died 23/11/1977 in Rossendale General Hospital and his son George Banks was the informant on his death certificate. I believe his son George married Barbara dont know last name and they had a son called Michael.

My Uncle george was the brother of my mother Annie Banks and the son of Joyce Martha Banks
