Thanks so much to you all have had this gap for a long time. Another members of the family found......... I think I shall have to grow a bigger tree ;-)

But please be aware that we haven't found his birth definitely, so still don't know his parents' names.

A tree on Ancestry claims that he was the son of Sands and Susannah, as suggested by Maddie above.

Born April 27th and baptised 4 May 1806 in Wicken, per the image of the baptism record.

But there is no way to prove he's the same John Reed.

For what it's worth:
the two suggested baptisms were in Wicken and Broughton.
Broughton is very close to ( nowadays part of) Milton Keynes.
Paulerspury is 8 miles away.
Wicken is about halfway between, but marginally nearer to Paulerspury than to Milton Keynes.

But it's possible that your John Reed wasn't baptised, or that the record has not survived - so we just don't know.
