hi, is anyone able to help look up info to find my half sister michelle kristina poynter .
i believe her mum was sheila griffiths and my father george poynter born 1938 south shields.
also im searching for my half brother Kevin poynter but he changed his name to Kevin Billington born in 1965 croydon who my dad george had with another lady called judith laing. i see a marraige kevin billington with a louise o calzetti but im trying to locate them and cant find there wherabouts at all. is anyone able to help please

I noticed that he was kevin g poynter . But I see kevin m billington marries to louise o calzetti which is the lady he is with.
I found kevin on fb but dont think he uses it as messages not going thru and only had one friend which is the son of louise calzetti who he dont know much info either as lost contact. So frustrating

I think Kevin M is a different Kevin from the Chatham area. Not seeing any marriages for your Kevin. There's one on the electoral roll in Carshalton.

And the Kevin Billington whom you mention as being related to Sally Anne Bowman is almost certainly another completely different Kevin - not your brother Kevin G Poynter.

It's confusing because we're talking about two different Kevins in any case - Kevin C Scott who married Michelle K Poynter (you've been given their address) , and Kevin G Poynter who is your half brother.

Why do you think he changed his name to Billington?

Why do you think he married a Louise?

Actually, looking closer at Sally Anne Bowman, I see her mother's name was Poynter.

She is on the eroll 2002/2003/4/ but living alone apparently.

There was a Kevin Billington living in Croydon until at least 2011, per Electoral Roll.

No Louise with him, though.

Relevant to this is a message I have from Caris back in 2015 where she has attached a family tree given to her

my reply was:

then it says

Well there is a marriage for George to Judith Laing but it is in 1961...so if he married Sheila Griffiths BEFORE Judith, then Michelle can't be the birth in 1972? "

I notice that the document is from 'legacy' which is connected to the Mormon's genealogy site in the states...whilst it is very good for searches ( familysearch is the site which is useful for parish records) there is a lot of info which has been 'submitted' by the public and isn't backed up by any records. It's a bit like trees on the Ancestry site, many of them are wrong but they are copied and people believe them.

I think you will have to work through it and try and check everything as you go, maybe buy the marriage cert to Judith Laing, and check age and whether George says he has been married before etc."

Just for ref the older sisters mentioned in the article on Sally Anne are from a former marriage for Linda M Poynter.

Yes linda had 4 girls . And brother kevin and sister maureen who is now ann ball.

Caris, there are marriages listed on that file which don't appear to have taken place , eg the one to Sheila Griffiths isn't showing anywhere so it is possible that they just lived together. If she then did marry someone else both hers and Michelle's surname would have changed? Unless you know otherwise?
