Find Living Relatives

Hi!

I know how good you guys are at finding info and how not good i am.. haha.

I have a relative called Harry O'Rourke, he lives in Andover now and was born in Ireland. I think he must of been born around 1940-1945. But how can I find his birth certificate? Nothing really shows up for Ireland :(

Or I was hoping to find out who his mum and dad were or if he has siblings etc...

Obvious question, if you know where he lives can you not ask him? If not do you know where in Ireland he was born and is his name likely to have been reg as Harry or Harold, or Henry, any middle name? ( for eg there's 1 Henry in Cork, 1 in Carlow, 1 Harold in Dublin) .

So if in Andover, he appears to be Henry?

He appears to be Henry? no middle name on marriage which you can find on freebmd.org.uk the cert should give you his father's name.

As he's living, do you have his permission to order the cert?

I don't get to talk to him much and when I do, he can be confused and abit deaf so I don't delve into it! It's more for his daughter that I am doing this for. But again, she lives away with him so i don't get to ask much questions.

Turns out though, he IS called Henry!? I've just found out from my mum. God knows why we call him Harry! But he has siblings aswell, which I had no idea about but we don't know there names either.

Harry is an accepted diminutive for a Henry - always has been!
