trying to find my sister wh was adopted. over 65 years ago ..
her birth name was .susan chapel believe she went to a family in berkhamstead. hertfordfshire .

Have you added your name & hers to the Adoption Contact Register?

The link gives further details on how to hire an intermediary who can access her records &, if she's found, act as a go between.

Is she on your tree in her birth name? Is she on anyone else's? If she is listed, send the tree owner a message in case they are looking for her birth family.

There is no birth with that name. Are you sure about the spelling of her surname? Most likely it is Chappell or Chapple.

Have you contacted those who have or might have her in their trees on here?

You have her as
'Susan Chapple/Gray' in your tree, so presumably Rose has found the correct birth?

it's worth doing the DNA test on Ancestry; I'm adopted and have traced birth relatives that way

You could put a message on freebmd against her birth record

Give and email address for contact not personal details like tel nos or addresss as it's an open site

If she does look for her birth ref then she will see your message and hopefully make contact
