Hello,
I have an ancestor, called Sarah Ann Gruton. From what i understand, she married a man called Daniel Judd, who was born in 1844, in 1863. However, I have found some conflicting censuses, that imply that at the same time, she was married to someone called Abraham Judd, how is this possible? I have attached some useful biographical information, on the people in question below:
Daniel Judd 1844–1899 BIRTH JANUARY 1844 • Ongar, Essex DEATH APRIL 1899 • Epping, Essex, United Kingdom 3rd great-grandfather Found in the 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881 and the 1891 censuses. Parents: James Taxbey Judd (1811-1878) and Ann Stanes (1811-1886)
Sarah Ann GRUTON 1845–1914 BIRTH ABT 1845 • Coopersale, Essex, England DEATH 1914 • High Ongar, Essex, England 3rd great-grandmother Found in every census mentioned above and below.
Abraham Judd 1843–1898 BIRTH MARCH 1843 • High Ongar, Essex, England DEATH DEC 1898 • Chelmsford, Essex, England husband of 3rd great-grandmother Found in the 1851, 1871, 1881 and the 1891 censuses. Parents: William Judd (1806-1853) and Susan Flack (1808-1897) __________________________________________________________________
There seem to be two different marriages, with different children, but there are some records, to suggest that some of the children belong to both Daniel and Abraham Judd. Needless to say, it would be good to know, if they are two separate marriages, and which children belong to who. It would also be good to know, my correct line of ascendance/descendance.
Kind regards, From Edward Powell

Erika, as the name sounded familiar and had ticks against the name on FMP I checked messages and the link is through the later marriage of William Ernest Judd, child of Daniel and Sarah (nee Cain), and Agnes Haley... they are together on the 1891 census you posted.

So Sarah Gurton is not related to you - your relation was Cain at birth.
Do you know about freebmd?
https://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
Looking there would have saved you getting confused over the census records.
It's an excellent free site - worth bookmarking for future use
