You could check the electoral rolls for the address that you have in West Derby in the off chance that Joan was living with family members.

Glynn, only your mother will be given access to her files. You must ask her to apply. SS will only tell you that, even as her son, you have no right of access.

Just the name from the birth certificate going to see if I can get the foster care records again this weekend at least to help begin the search I know the street in west derby Liverpool Joan lived on is there anyway I can use that? thanks again

Your mother can apply to have her foster care papers released to her which will reveal more personal information.

She will need to seek the help of Social Services using the aftercare department,an office local to her will give assistance with the process.

Hi my mother Linda J King born 1960 South Liverpool was fostered and I have no information regarding my family history. I have viewed her birth records and been informed her birth mother was Joan King of West Derby, Liverpool however I am struggling to find any information. Any help would be greatly appreciated I am wanting to establish my history and heritage.
