	have you looked in members trees to see if anyone has any famiy members listed Other than that look on freebmd for his birth and any possible siblings born You can also check for his parents marriage etc and work back Don't think it's likely anyone will just come along and say we are related

	Is he not in touch with any family .he would know his parents etc His mum is Joy spruce born 1943. You can check her birth on freebmd which shows her mmn Won't post the details as she could,still be alive

	www.freebmd.org.uk It's a free site where you can look up births marriages and deaths for the GRO record and get the GRO reference to use to order copy certs from www.gro.gov.uk

	Looks like your mum was married to him so her marriage cert should give his age and fathers name

	Frances pm,d me I have explained how to use freebmd and given her a start with her father's birth His parents and their marriage. Their parents names etc going back to the early 1940s Have explained the protocol for not posting personal info for folks who could still be living Hopefully it's given her a start
