Yes he would have a birth certificate but not registered in the uk - Alexander was a name used by many Jewish migrants who wished to lose their identity during WW2. He was born around 1920. |

But though the name rang a bell this can't be your Herbert George as the age is too far out....unless he is a brother to Henry? |

They were married at the Finsbury registar office and had Charles Alexander and Kathleen A Francis as witnesses. I'd assume Charles is a relative but searches have not shown a lot. |

My head is spinning. The marriage certificate states Henry Collins as Vera's father and that he was a postman. So Nyx has the correct name Vera Collins. She states her age as 18 in 1942. Which works out with a date of birth 14 November 1923. I'm not sure that the Vera Collins in Sefton (death) is the correct on. |

If that IS the right Vera dying 2003 then she would have only been 17/18 when she married which is not what is given on marriage cert... |

Perhaps the 1939 is not the correct Vera- That one born Congleton. Deborah said she was from Lancashire (although not seeing another Vera Collins- to surname Alexander that fits?). |
