But though the name rang a bell this can't be your Herbert George as the age is too far out....unless he is a brother to Henry? |

Yes he would have a birth certificate but not registered in the uk - Alexander was a name used by many Jewish migrants who wished to lose their identity during WW2. He was born around 1920. |

Deborah it really might help if you gave the address you have, regardless of whether it was destroyed during the war. |

BTW you said you haven't looked at electoral rolls, that is why people are asking for the address so that they can look, London electoral rolls prior to and after the war are on Ancestry, even if the name is not on there for that address it 'might' give further clues |

18 Mitchell Street EC1 - I have searched some electoral roles. But no joy with this address to add. More experienced researchers might be able to though than me. |

Just trying to grasp a few basics- Not seeing Vera & Henry on the electoral register. What address was given for the births of the children? |
|||
|
AustinQ | Report | 25 Jul 2017 09:44 |
I'm pretty certain the above Vera is correct. Looking at the births on Free BMD it looks like Vera was possibly with Herbert Sendall from 1949 even though they didn't marry until 1962. (two children- son born 1949 & daughter 1952 - the daughter's children are on Facebook). |

Kay has just raised a good point via PM- could Sandra have been formally adopted by Herbert Sendall? |
