Kay, I was responding to this comment below that you wrote -as I couldn't see the relevance of the Brown daughters. Only Alison Brown would be in the running as mother of George (although unlikely) and not any of the other Brown daughters. |

I know Q,but the Brown was Alisons maiden name,so if George was William and Alisons son out of wedlock his reg would be under Brown. aswell :-) |

Kay- I think you've confused it a bit there! George was a Thomson, not a Brown. |

That birth is the George Henderson Thomson that Treemadnancy says is the son of William Thomson and Alison Brown.- although I don't think those were his parents. (More likely to be the son of Ellen or Robina). |

I know it's not directly related to your query- but I don't think William was the father of George Henderson Thomson- I think it more likely that he was the illegitimate son of Ellen or Robina. |

It would be a big coincidence if the mother's name was Thomson, as well as your father's. |

Yeas Kay! your quite right. There were about 6 possibilities and I didnt want to purchase them all, so got in touch with the registrar in Northumberland who are saying High G Thomson was a possible relation, states mothers surname as Thomson..She never gave the fathers name which suggested he wasnt put on the birth record...So I'm doomed either way. I did email back and ask if the fathers name was listed but no reply. |

Unless you get a copy of the birth certificate to compare parentage of H G Thomson it maybe you could spend endless time looking for someone who isnt related. |
