Cherilyn I think you have found everything i need to know, regarding my Grandmothers ancestorys, a lot of these people in the family list I know and believe they are my relatives. Thank you very much for your time and it will be great to complete that side of my family tree, I did have a book on the Walden Waldron Family which I borrowed from a member of the Waldron Family in Narrandera soe years back to verify my relationship to that family. I am doing this research for my father who is 80 years of age and ask me to look into his mother side of the family, My dad is Cecil Thomas Bell, eldest son of Kathleen and Sydney Thomas Bell.
Once again, thank you
Regards

Hi Cheryl, I made a mistake in my previous record.
Patricks father was: Thomas Jackson born in Picton NSW in 1834
Mother: Anne Newman, born Limberick Ireland, on Patricks birth certifice it states that both Thomas and Anne were 28 years of age at the time of Patricks birth in 1834. They were married in Deniliquin NSW in October 1858.

No idea if any of this is new as I don't know what KevinL has found for you so far but hopefully there is something. Not much further with Thos snr. (EDIT: The JACKSON-NEWMAN marriage cert or his 1870 death certificate is your best bet to go any further - but the marriage is quite early so may not have much detail). But it was an enjoyable day of sleuthing :-D
So what you have now (along with siblings' details etc) is, in a nutshell...
Kathleen Eileen JACKSON b. 1917-d. ? daughter of Patrick JACKSON b. 1866 Gundagai, d. 1953 Narrandera and Annie Hanora Maude WALDREN b. 1880 Wagga Wagga, d. 1971 Cootamundra
Patrick JACKSON 1866-1953 son of Thomas JACKSON ?-1870 Gundagai and Margaret Ann NEWMAN ?-? (who remarried to CORRY/CURRY in 1871)
Annie Hanora Maude WALDREN 1880-1971 daughter of Michael WALDREN b. 1858 Victoria, d. 1935 Wagga Wagga and Mary Anne ROBINS b. 1860 Camden, d. 1906 Wagga Wagga
Michael WALDREN 1858-1935 son of James WALDREN b. c1818 ?Ireland, d. 1885 Tarcutta and Mary FLYNN b. ? - d. ?
Mary Anne ROBINS 1860-1906 daughter of John ROBINS b. c1834, d. 1918 Narrandera and Anne WRIGHT b. 1840 NSW, d. 1904 Narrandera

His wife's death in 1904, aged 63 - http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/104069817 Her death was reg in Narrandera, 2274, daughter of Samuel & Ann - possible matching christening in NSW in 1840:
The ROBINS' property in Coolamon was named Arthursleigh.

I believe I have solved the mystery of Bridget, sister of Patrick JACKSON.
It appears that after Patrick's father died in 1870, his mother remarried in 1871 as Margaret Ann JACKSON to Michael CORRY in Tumut (reg 3612).
A daughter Bridget was born to this couple in Gundagai: 10861/1872 CORRY BRIDGET MICHAEL MARGARET A GUNDAGAI
Then this marriage: 2355/1902 THOMPSON WILLIAM CURRY BRIDGET E WAGGA WAGGA
And a death matching year of birth and place last known: 15050/1956 THOMPSON BRIDGET ELLEN 84 YEARS JUNEE JUNEE
Still looking for Patrick's mother's death as CORRY or CURRY.

Okay that death in 1953 is definitely your man. Here is another obit that gives a lot more info and also names Kathleen Bell as a daughter :-) It also states he was born in Gundagai so the 1866 birth fits.
http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/101618387
It states his father Thomas died when he was 3 years old. His mother was an Irish woman, and devout Catholic.
Likely matching death for father Thomas in 1870 in Gundagai, reg 3805, son of Thomas.
The first obit mentions a surviving sister Bridget, wife of Bill THOMPSON, and a late brother Wm.
The obit of another brother, Thomas, (see link below) lists siblings including Patrick and Mrs Wm Thompson. Other brothers are John and William JACKSON of Wagga. This fits perfectly with all the NSW births in Gundagai to Thomas & Ann: Thomas 1859 John 1862 William 1864 Patrick 1866
(N.B. date of eldest son's birth also fits the 1858 JACKSON-NEWMAN marriage in Deniliquin, posted by JoonieCloonie)
BROTHERS OF PATRICK JACKSON b. 1866 Obit of Thos JACKSON jnr (d. 1933): http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/143152961 and his funeral http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/143152599 Obit of Wm JACKSON (d. 1936): http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/144674811 Obit of John JACKSON (d. 1947): http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/144843411

Ok so you have this info:
Kathleen Eileen JACKSON born 1917 at Coolamon NSW to Patrick and Annie JACKSON nee WALDREN/WALDRON.
You then have her father Patrick JACKSON"s birth 1 Apr 1866 in Picton NSW son of Thomas (b. 1834) and ?Catherine.
The birthdate you have for Patrick (what is your source?) fits this birth reg: 9116/1866 JACKSON PATRICK THOMAS ANNE GUNDAGAI
But this shows his mother as Anne.
Then on Patrick's marriage record his mother is shown as Margaret Anne: Name Patrick Jackson Spouse's Name Annie Waldren Event Date 16 Sep 1900 Event Place St. Michaels, R.C., Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia Father's Name Thomas Jackson **Mother's Name Margaret Anne Noonan** Spouse's Father's Name Michael Waldren Spouse's Mother's Name Mary Anne Robins

Michael WALDREN died in 1935 in Wagga Wagga aged 78, reg shows him as son of James, mother not stated (reg 23749 as WALDRON).
His obituary mentions his daughters Mrs P. Jackson and Mrs W. Jackson :-) and also states he was born in Victoria.
http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/144576688
Funeral gives further details: http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/144561444
His wife died in 1906 aged only 46, daughter of John & Ann (reg 14557). The family lived in Uranquinty, just south of Wagga Wagga. (Likely birth for Mary as Mary A ROBINS b. 1860 in Camden NSW, parents John & Ann, reg 5990).
http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/142110875
I'd say this is most likely Michael's birth in Victoria: Name: Michael WALDREN Father: James Mother: Mary FLYNN Birth Place: MALDON (not far from Amphitheatre, Vic) Year: 1858 Reg Number: 3367
No other births to this couple in Victoria. I think the James WALDREN who died in Tarcutta in 1885 aged 67 was Michael's father: http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/223984010
Trees online have Jas as born in 1818 in Ireland. It appears he may have had a 2nd marriage in 1875 to Mary Jane ARCHER in Wagga (reg 4266) if online trees are correct. (She remarried in 1895 to John NOLAN and died in 1917).

ah yes, before registration started so not districts, got it.
now just a question,
'Patrick Jackson born 1/4/1866'
and father Thomas Jackson was 28, so Thomas was born abt 1838 not 1834?
1665/1858 JACKSON THOMAS NEWMAN ANN DENILIQUIN
do you have that marriage certificate? and if so, no mention of Thomas's parents? or just mother?
and up above you said
Patricks Father: Thomas Jackson, born 1834 Mother: Not known.
so that marriage of Thomas and Ann is new info you have found?
(If Kevin has found other info for you, do tell us!)
and do you know when Thomas died, and no mention of parents on his death certificate? (not surprising if he was a good age, maybe wife died before him, children did not know his parents' names, etc.)
There are two Thomas Jackson deaths in the NSW records with mother Catherine,1891 and 1896, fathers William and John
but your idea that Thomas's mother was Catherine, is that maybe from the 1834 record that malyon posted above? or what other source?
If 'traditional' genealogy searches do not find any more about Thomas's father, you do have a male-line descendant in your grandmother's brother's son (whom you would have to interest in the project and persuade to spit on a stick for you). So you could always consider DNA testing to look for a match. Some people (like me :-) ) find it a fun process, for others it is too complicated and it is often frustrating because very few people have the crazy wild good luck I had of finding a match that gave me info I would never ever have got otherwise.
A match, if you found one, could be anywhere in the world, with someone in England or Ireland whose ancestor did not emigrate, or someone in Australia who is more closely related (say descended from Thomas's father or brother), or someone in North America whose ancestor emigrated there. My own is with someone in California whose ancestor emigrated to Michigan in the US, but who came from the same little part of Cornwall as my ancestor.
My childhood pen pal was a Waldron in QLD ... there are only 500 or so Waldrons in the Australian white pages, maybe you are related :-D

Hi Joonie, Yes my grandmother had a brother Thomas Jackson born about 1920 he passed away a couple of years ago, but he has a son Timothy Jackson I think his name is and a daughter Tammy.
The only record of Patricks parents are on a copy of a Patricks birth certificate and it states that his father name is: Thomas Jackson 28 years of age, born Picton NSW and his mothers name was Anne Newman 28 years of age born in Limerick Ireland, they were married at Deniliquin NSW in October 1858. But that is all I have on Thomas at the moment.
Joonie, the District Codes on the entries are in relation to Church of England References.
District CI: Campbelltown
District CY: Lower Hawkesbury.

Another thing is that it's common for a son of unmarried parents to be named for the father. There were two Catherine Jackson marriages in NSW around the right time ... both to Thomas !!
1692/1837 V18371692 21 MC DONALD THOMAS JACKSON CATHERINE district CI
650/1850 V1850650 36B BORTH THOMAS JACKSON CATHERINE CY
1837 looks possible. Neither couple seems to have had children after registration started in 1855.
If Cherilyn is looking in - do you know what districts 'CI' and 'CY' were?
