am looking for john abbott born about 1943 his sisters are looking for him last seen in barrow in furness late 1950s sisters Dorothy norma and ann

Quite a few of that name, so more info would help. Did he have a middle initial?

there's a Norma Abbot married in Barrow in Furness in 1960

there's a John and Dorothy Abbot born in Lancashire - mother Dearden
and an Ann also born in Lancashire - died in 1950

are the sisters older or younger?
do they have the same two parents?
do you know John's mother's surname?
that would be the only way to identify his birth for sure

if they had the same mother but not the same father, for instance, their surnames would be different but the mother's surname shown when their birth was registered would be the same, and this could help match them to John and identify his birth

identifying his birth would give you his age and possibly a middle name if you don't know it

Looking for john abbott born between 1940-1945 we think in Lytham st anns on the fylde coast near blackpool sisters names are DOROTHY BORN 1947 NORMA BORN 1941 mothers maiden name was MEE as far as we know her father was called DAVID MCKEWEN ABBOTT do not know if mckewen is spelt correct.also a sister called ANN but we do not know her birth date.norma was married in Barrow-in-Furness 1960.We believe john was living in barrow in the 1950s early 1960s any help would be much appreciated DAVID

What was the mother's full name please? Not seeing either a birth for John or a marriage for mother Mee to Abbott , could he have been born to a previous marriage?

there's a John Abbot married in Fylde in 1971 to a Barbara Wilson

a boy Abbot born 1990 in Fylde - mother Wilson

Both the deceased John Abbotts that Ann has posted appear to have been born in Leigh, no connection as to surname of mother, or father's name of David, so far as I can tell from matching marriages on freebmd.

For ref helpers, mother was Mary Mee

found via free search, but credits needed to look at details

1940-1945 there were 8 John Abbott births in Scotland

That list can be obtained for only one credit (mine have expired or I would have)

and I think the list would show mother's surname for each birth? so the right one could be identified, if he was born in Scotland

this doesn't help a lot for finding him unfortunately, but at least you would have accurate info about him to be getting on with

(his actual birth certificate is not available on line and would have to be ordered, but would give more info about the parents)

Is Mabel born 1943 in Fylde also a sister? same parents' surnames ...

Thank you so much what site did you go on in Scotland also I have sent for birth certificate for norm and mabel.we do not know if mabel is a sister have been trying to find a birth for a sister named ann born about 1943 with them all being brought up in care maybe changed from mabel to ann best wishes DAVE
