It was the Butler Act 1944 and used from 1947 that moved the leaving date to 15. My youngest aunt left at 14 and she was still at school in 1939, she left school in 1942 born in 1928. |

She was 2 weeks old and it was in Nottingham. She was born in a "nursing home" so I wouldn't be surprised if they were involved |
