Florence Lilian Buckledee (1902) was the daughter of Harry Robert Buckledee and Clara May Baker.

They married Ipswich Sept. Quarter 1901..check out Free BMD...the surname has been spelled Buckledee / Buckeldee .The 1911 Census has it transcribed as Buckeldec


Harry was Christened "Henry Robert" but used Harry..see below....
He was also living at home 1901.

Clara May Baker Was born 1882 but I cannot place her with parents..the 1901 census shows her as a Tailoress and visitor in Church lane St Clements Ipswich she is listed as" May" Baker

now You should go to Freebmd and look for the Towers+Flint marriage that will be her parents!!

(hint: of the several Towers+Flint marriages, it will be the one in the same place, not long before her birth)

then You can put that info in the thread here :-)

... and then for other Towers births with mother Flint, who would be her siblings

(hint: there are two births in a different but not far off location, and there is no other Towers+Flint marriage they could belong to ... but don't put that info in the thread as those people are probably still living)



also ... when you find a record at Freebmd, you should click on the 'Info' next to it and follow the instructions for adding a 'postem'

if you give info about your connection and provide an email address (one that you will always have access to, like at Gmail, and that keeps your anonymity, is best), anyone else who looks at the record who is also connected will be able to contact you

have you not searched trees at this site to see whether anyone related has your mother in their tree?

I searched using 1936 +/- 1 year because a birth registered in 1936 could have been in late 1935

two people have your mother in their trees

(one has the date as 1935 and shows her born in Shirebrook, so with info that specific, that person is probably closely connected)

(the other appears to be very closely related ... )

one of those people also has both of Shirley's siblings in their tree

and one of those siblings (that is, your uncle) has himself in his own tree here at Genes Reunited


... I wasn't sure whether you meant you did not know anyone in your mother's family

if that is the case, you would hopefully be able to contact her siblings through one or more of those Genes Reunited members

joonie, once again, thanks for the comprehensive help and advise ,I have not had any contact with my birth mother or any of her family, nor have I ever had any knowledge of her, I think I was taken away from her when I was a baby,,,(I think!!!!!)
I shall do the searches now and report back anything interesting.
Did you find her death?
I have PM both of the people you suggested, the male a week or so ago and the female just a few mins ago

Well it turns out the female is not who I am looking for and the male has not answered my pm, this is the search for my mum mrs shirly towers on the info from joonie two posts back.
Joonie says they appear to be very closely related but I cant seem to get any further :-(

if she was 'Mrs' Shirley Towers then certainly she was not the one born 1935/36 in Mansfield

you need to sort us out for that one ... I was talking about the birth you were referring to, but that person wasn't born a 'Mrs'

was Towers the surname your mother was born with, or that she married?

Towers was her maiden name,she married my dad around 1958 I think

Dave, you need to have your parents' marriage certificate

to know her age when she married, and her father's name

they married in Ipswich 1958? you can find the info at Freebmd for ordering the certificate

Joonie,,I know my dad is dead,1984 ish, but I have no idea about my mum,as I said earlier, we were separated when I was a baby, and my dad told me nothing about his past, thats why this has all been amazing for me, to find siblings after all these years thanks to you and all on here.
I will do as you say and try to get the marriage certificate for them.
