Thanks Det, that is the record. Was hoping there might be more detail to the names. Oh well, battle on!

Thanks again :-)

Do you know any of their names? It might be possible to pick them up on ER (to 1981)

If you were to add New Zealand to the title, New Zealanders might have other resources as their finger tips :-)

The family in question are most definitely in Aus in 1963, so if the same it was probably only a holiday or short trip!

Does it give the gender of the passengers by any chance? Or ages?

Thank you

No - what I typed was what there was. The headings were
Name (listed as surname then initials)
Nationality
Cabin
Address.

Scrolling back to the beginning of the section, the front sheet says

"Johan Van Oldenbarnevelt" Voyage 13
List of Passengers Disembarking in Wellington

I've looked at few other sections - none give ages, gender or first names. There are one or two Mrs but that's about it.

If they were £10 Poms/Assisted immigrants, have you thought of looking at the Australian National Archive?
http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/search/index.aspx

Click the Record Search then make sure you click the green Name Search on the next page. Select Immigration and Naturalisation from the Category of Records drop down list

can you tell us who you are actually looking for? - is there a J L Crawford you have in mind, and what is the actual name?

were these people British born, and might their marriage/births be found in the index for England/Wales then? - edit - Detective notes that the passengers were British born

does the accompanying person in the next cabin match a parent of the couple you are interested in?

... actually, it's not clear what you are wanting to find out, as you know the people you are interested in were in Australia in 1963 ... ?

Sorry ladies, didn't see the later replies. I was just trying to assist somebody who was trying to locate 'lost' family, but it seems that some significant information has been found. At the initial request, I was unaware of the 1963 information.

Thank you for your help/offers of help, it is much appreciated.

Many thanks :-)
