ve family staying for a long weekend and so will not be able to follow up on anything, so don't think I have lost interest. I have emailed Rosa Bader and will see what happens. I don't think I have seen an envelope sign on messages. It is hard enough for me to refind things I have sent. I also find the tree difficult to navigate, but I will have a go entering in all these new finds, once I have copied them onto pen and paper - I really am a dinosaur electronically! As you've posted on find living relatives, that's what we've been trying to do; find you names and contact details for you to use.
*You* have to be proactive. Building a tree is the first step. After you've sent messages to other GR members, the next action is to write to distant relatives. It can be worth while!

One of my distant but blood relatives emigrated to NY about 1841. One of his descendents had inherited an unusual combination of names and was easy to find on line. To cut a long story short, he was the custodian of photo and lithographs dating back to the 1870s. He and his family met with us in the UK a few years back. We were able to visit the ancestral stomping ground en masse.

It can be worth making that extra effort - you never know what you might learn!

It was in Oak Ridge (Tennessee) that she met her future husband, Philip R. Matthews, an Army chemist assigned to the Manhattan Project. She remained in Oak Ridge until her marriage to Phil in 1946. Ann and Phil then spent a year in Berkeley, CA, while Phil finished his degree and they moved to Schenectady in 1947.

There are several possible marriages for the Rebecca and Rose Gluckstein mentioned in the 1901/1911 with Barnett and Esther, in the London area so there might be descendants to be found there( at least two of the possible marriages had a daughter each) .

I think that's possibly as far as can be gone without buying at least a few marriage certs, unless Nick gets in touch and has already done the research, or someone can be found in trees that might be worth contacting.
