That was an accident how do i untick that :/ he wasnt that much older im afraid. I believe roy has passed now not that that helps. I have searched everywhere for the shop name/address no luck as yet. I was also told derek may have moved to durham at sumpoint which set us back yet again. Do any of you think a trip to town hall would be of any benefit are they allowed to help? |

The 1944 Derek possibly had a brother Roy in 1926 in Eccleshall Bierlow. That district became part of Sheffield in the 1930s. |

There appear to be 3 children to the previous marriage, Amitage/Child but not a Roy. |

Well, the Derek born 1937 had a brother Albert 10 years older than him? Neither boys had middle initials, so we may not be any further forward. |

Hayley , unfortunately clicking 'marked as answered' may mean people won't look at the thread, as it implies the query has been answered, it's a problem that GR know about but haven't sorted out yet. |

The only Sheffield births for a Derek in 1940 +/- 10 was for one born in 1937 or 1944. |

I am searching for my mums biological father whos name is derek holden i believe he was born around 1939 or just after in sheffield. He lived above a corner shop at darnall, sheffield which his parents owned and ran in the 60's the shop was on the corner of thames road and harrogate street. I also believe he had a brother called Roy. He was court in as they say with my grandma whos name was hazel jarvis i have pictures of the two of them in high hazels park back in the 60's. My mother was born in 1965 with the name gail jarvis. Derek visited her a few times but then the contact was stopped and she hasnt seen derek since. Any information would be hugely welcomed as we have been searching a long time. Thank you |
