Have you looked for her death. If it's still Carter then she hadn't remarried |

Hi wondered if you could help me with some information please. Viola Carter who was challenger born 1912 to 1993 was widowed in 1953 at the age of 45. She married Thomas Carter in 1941 for 12 years until his death. I was trying to see if she remarried as she lived to 89. Many thanks jane |

Yes I have been through all the siblings and been researching 7 years and not much further forward really. I have tried various trees all nothing. My dad does not know who his father was its Carter on birth certificate but we have no photo nothing no information. He could be Arthur tidd child there is resemblance. This secret was taken to the grave. Every door I open closes thanks for looking |

Chippenham may not be the place of death but the main named office that the death came under, |

So you have no documentary evidence that the marriage in 1941 was for Marian's ex? |

Hi thanks for looking again. I am not 100 per cent sure of Thomas Henry Carter death. He was born in lea 22 jan 1896 father was alfred Carter and mother fanny Carter maiden name Pearce. Married in 1926 to marion sewter in Mitford Norfolk . My dad was born in 1939 Bernard carter. Dad never saw him we know nothing of him. Marion remarried in 1941 to Arthur Tidd and I assume Thomas Carter remarried also in 1941 to viola challenger in Chippenham. Either could be his father I guess . |

Are you sure Thomas was Bernard's father? They were married for over 12 years before he was born and I see Marian also remarried as soon as the divorce came through. |

Frome is the registration district and so covers a multitude of places (it also was abolished in 1974 and became Mendip RD which is where Viola's death was registered). |
