If you don't mind messing it up, add Carol and her parent(s) to your own tree on GR.
If she or a current relative were seeking birth family via this site, thats the names they'd look for.

Check that Carol isn't already listed on a tree. If she, or known birth parents, are listed, send a message to the tree owner.

Thanks for that suggestion "Detective". The thing that has hampered our efforts is that when i posted a message on missingyou a woman sent me a message saying her name is now " then name given" and she is on genesreunited. When i then joined here and paid the subscription i found no reference of the lady (:

I suppose its possible that she was only interested in researching her adoptive family and hasn't added herself in her birth name, nor added her birth parents.
She might also have deleted her tree/account.

The only other Carole - note the E - on GR trees with a same year of birth gives a pob as Hampton, Middx. Different middle initial, registered in Staines, so not her.

Might the contact on missingyou act as a go-between?

I have messaged them back.... but they haven't replied. I have just done a bit of research on the name she gave me but the dates of birth do not match and the family history for her family leads me more to think that the lady put 2 and 2 together and just looked at marriage records for Carol Elms ( born same month and year) and gave me her new married name ..... but i don't think this person deliberately gave us false information.... just someone trying to help.
Re Carole ..... this was the one as mentioned above. x
