Descendents of William Clarke Nisbet, born 1909

If Sandra knows who his mother married, assuming it is likely he was reared by her (unless he was adopted), possibly he took his stepfather's name

he could also have gone by his mother's name, if he stayed with her, or was placed in care but not adopted

the 1911 census would seem to be the essential starting place

Can't see anything for William Clarke Nisbet on SP or elsewhere.

Plenty of William Nisbets, but without the middle name it's impossible to know if any of them are him.

Perhaps he was adopted and had a different surname.

PS re Terson - when he went to Canada in 1906, he was heading for Toronto, and was travelling alone.

Perhaps William's death?? No DOB or middle initial given, though, so could be another William Nisbet.

Perhaps a possibility for William in the 1911 Scotland census - credits on SP would let you see the image of the record;

NISBET WILLIAM M 1 BUCKHAVEN /FIFE 459/02 005/00 013

this is why he's not on 1911 census:

I can't find Terson on 1911 Scotland census..

Here's Terson's death - with credits you can view the image of the cert. It would tell you if he was married or not, and maybe give some clue re children - perhaps the informant was a son or daughter. (EDIT: Oh, yes, you know he married.):

1961 NISBET TERSON ATHRIN
Other surname: CRAIG M 72 PERTH /PERTH 387/00 0584

As Scotland's people is pay-to-view only, I'm afraid I won't be able to provide any info later than 1901

Hi Jacqeline

Thank you for your suggestions. Firstly I wish to clarify my connection. William Clarke Nisbet is the illegitimate son of my great great aunt, Elizabeth Byfield Clarke. Elizabeth Clarke is the younger sister to my great granny, Sarah Byfield Clarke. William Nisbet would be a cousin to my granny, Sarah Byfield Lawton (yes also born illegtimate and daughter to Sarah Byfield Clarke).

Thank you for searching Terson Nisbet in the 1901 Census I had found that as well. I can tell you that Terson Nisbet's twin brother Malcolm B B Nisbet died at age 14 around 1904. However, I am still tracing the family of William Clarke Nisbet and his father Terson Nisbet.

I will continue to loo into your other suggestions and go from there. If you happen to discover anything else please let me know.

Regards
Sandra

Look for his name in search all trees

For any marriage info, you will need o pay for credits on Scotlands People website

Was he brought up by either of his parents............or was he taken in by another family and given their surname?

Put him in your tree on here if you haven't already done so.

You must have had a reason for getting a copy of his birth cert.......................what is your connection?

I am seeking decendents of a William Clarke Nisbet, born in 1909 in Fife Scoltand. Illegitimate son of Terson A Nisbet and Elizabeth Byfield Clarke. His parents never married, though went on to marry other people. I only have a birth certificate to date of William Clarke Nisbet, and hoping to find out about his life and any extended family.

Regards
Sandra :-)
