Find Living Relatives

Please can someone help. I'm helping an old non-computer literate friend find her birth family. I have an official document showing this spelling for Cecilia Ann Griffiths and showing her living at 48 Rydens Street, Gloucester in 1943/44. I have checked the Electoral Regs for this address where a couple called Steele lived. I have looked to see if THEY had any children - no luck here.
I've had no luck finding any Cecilia Ann's, apart from one born in Reigate, Surrey but cannot get any further with this.
at an educated guess I'd say Cecilia was born between 1900-1929
I'd appreciate any ideas - or does anyone know of a Cecilia Ann Griffiths?

Would a birth registered in 1925 of Cecilia A Griffiths fit ?

There is a tree on ancestry with someone with the same name (although a letter wrong) marrying in 1950 and emigrating to Australia

The birth is a year out and in Liverpool.... But I cannot see one that matches

There were no electoral rolls during wartime so what years were the Steele's living there?

Probally the 1939 and 1945/6 books showed the same people at that address so it was concluded they lived there during the war years.?

Where was your friend born? There are no births that fit for Gloucester City district.

I don't know where Cecilia Ann Griffiths was born - that's what I'm trying to find out.

Hi Jax - thank you for giving me the inf on Ceclia Ann Griffiths marrying Horace H Smith. can I ask if you got this inf from this website? also, do you know whether this Ceclia died in Australia or the UK?

I suppose this could be a one off spelling mistake - I'll have to check other birth records to see if they are the same.

My friend was born in London.

Rose - you're right about no electoral regs being available during the war.
Gloucester records office gave the inf about the Steeles living inRyecroft Street
For the year 1945 I think.

Do you have her your friend's birth certificate and adoption papers?

As I said it is on a tree on ancestry she died in Australia date of birth as Aug 1924 but only birth around that time was Sept 1925....but not unususal to get date of birth wrong on a death cert.

So either it is her with wrong birth details or she too was adopted

As that marriage is also London Walthamstow area maybe it is her?

Only birth I can see... Not sure where you got the Surrey birth from

Update: nothing concrete to report. I'm still awaiting replies to enquiries from 5 people - some through GR contacts.

Jax said Cecilia Ann Smith died in 2007 in Australia. I've tried to find where Abouts in Oz, but without success. Did you find this inf inGR?
