Please forgive me for not responding earlier but all my time is being spent with my wife in hospital. I do sincerely appreciate everyone's assistance in this search and will speak with the lady, Elanor Huntriss, when I go to the hospital an 11am.

Edna's niece is on this site and has Edna in her tree. Go to Search at the top and select Search All Member Trees.

well oh no, that's the one we've all been looking at, and the death record ...

but ... the 1927 birth was in Basford and there is a 1945 marriage in Basford ...

oh wait ... a birth reg Q1 1928 in Liverpool for Monica E ... matches the late 1927 dob on the death record


so apologies to Donal, this does seem to be the wrong person


also just to note the birth in Steyning shown above in the thread was to a different couple who married 10 years before Edna's parents

This one was born in 1927 so not the correct Edna.

I don't know where that info came from Rose ... but I guess none of us checked death records closely.

Donal may want to break the news to the woman in hospital himself or contact the family member he has been given contact info for ... Edna seems to have died in 2007, middle name matching what Rose said

The Edna that married in 1951 also appears to have been known as Monica.

In the next hospital bed to my wife a dear 89 year old lady asked if could help her locate her cousin Edna Best born Birkenhead circa 1932, her parents were Eleanor Best nee Murphy and John Best.

Any help for this dear lady will be greatly appreciated.
