So you're saying ( I think) that this Ruth left her husband and infant son, 'married' another man, had his child, who she put in a home, then blithely went back to her actual husband and carried on as though nothing untoward had happened

I don't have all the answers . Hence why I am on here trying to make sense of it all .
How is seeing it online not the same as seeing the certificate in writing .. It shows the actual marriage certificate on ancestry .
The actual certificates I do have are my grandmothers birth certificate , her mother's marriage certificate to Ernest james , her mother's birth certificate and what I believe to be her mother's death certificate in the name of Ruth lyon

If Ruth left her husband LYON, and then put her daughter by JAMES in a home, how is it that RIchard LYON was the informant on what you think is this person's death?

Seeing a marriage record is not the same as having the cert

Also I have seen the marriage to Henry online and it fits Ruth Jones perfectly from the census information I have .

Ruth Jones who married lyon has the exact date of birth as my grandmothers mum . It even tells Me this on the death certificate I have for Ruth lyon .

Why do you think that Ruth Jones who married LYON in Lancashire is the same person as Ruth A Jones who married in Cheshire only a year later?

I honestly can't see any logic in it at all, especially as there were probable births for Lyon/Jones in later years

Also the witnesses were peter and Elizabeth briscoe . I don't know what connection these people were

Says mother Annie Ruth James nee Jones and father Ernest james . His occupation said labourer and address was 32 new ferry rd birkenhead . That was on my grandmothers birth certificate
On the marriage certificate it says Ernest James age 25 . Father Edward James deceased occupation upholsterer .
Annie Ruth Jones 21 . Father john Jones deceased . Occupation merchant service captain and their address didn't exist .

What are the details on your grandmother's birth cert? Does it list Ruth and Ernest and what is Ernest's occupation?

You have some very common surnames here. Sounds like they found the incorrect birth cert.

"in 2002 my aunt asked liverpool council to help locate my grandmothers mum's birth certificate and they did so that is how i know her date of birth"

Can you list the details and ages from the 1916 marriage? What was her father's name and who were the witnesses?

Why aren't you happy . Have I done something wrong ? The woman's maiden name is on the 1977 death certificate for Ruth Lyon and her maiden name is Jones and says she's the widow of Henry Latham Lyon .

The woman's maiden name should be on the 1974 cert

to copy and paste hold left side of mouse down then scroll mouse over item you want to copy it should turn blue then hold down right side of mouse and a box comes up with options to copy click copy then right click again and paste

Also what I should Say is the death certificate of Ruth Lyon confirmed that she was the widow of Henry Latham Lyon . I just can't understand why she wasn't Ruth James . Could anyone find a possible marriage for richard Lyon born nov 1915 Prescot . I researched a marriage for him to lily mercer but seems it's the wrong one as that Richard was born 1919. I don't know where to search next
