Trying to re-connect with my aunty Betty (nee Cummings) originally from Greenock, Scotland last known address Preston, Lancs

Hi everyone, thanks for all the input. I know when my aunt was born, I know who she married , where & when etc. As I am trying to trace a living relative I deliberately did not add too much detail to protect their privacy. If any of her children or perhaps grandchildren use this site they will recognise her from the small amount of info I posted. Thank you all

what age would she be ,and what is her husbands name / does she have any children that can be followed up on

There is a marriage on Scotslandspeople in 1956, in Greenock, of an Elizabeth Cummings to a Mr McFadyen.

Possible births in 1940 and 1935, amongst others.

When were you last in contact?

Possibly it is John McFadyen

There appears to be a daughter who married in 1995 in Preston.

An Elizabeth McFadyen is listed on the current ER in Leyland, Lancs. She has been registered there since at least 2002

Very, very few people actually read these boards (24 have read your thread when I started posting this) so the chance of any of her children or grandchildren reading this is very remote.

Possibly some time in the future a descendant might come across her name in your tree (?) or this thread, but Betty might no longer be with us.

So if you want to make actual contact with her, not her children, you need to seek her, not just sit and wait.

This is why we wanted further details - to try and help you in your search.

Also, for anyone new to this thread, the opening post has been amended by Celia to explain her position, and so some of the responses may not make complete sense.

Giving her year of birth, and her husband's forename would not be an invasion of privacy, and would help people to help you

You haven't even said when she was in Preston..........

There is one McFadyen/Cummings birth in Preston in 1969
