FreeBMD doesb't have a birth for Mark Poulton, 1961 with mother's maiden name Geddes. There is, however one with mmn Stephens. Could her maiden name be Stephens formerly married to Geddes?

Iileen was adopted so I don't know if one was her birth name and other adopted?

Sorry, put Mark, realised wrong, 'immediately' changed to James, but you read it in that instant when it was the wrong name showing.

The marriage certificate will give his name, might give his age, his Father's name, occupations, addresses, and if really lucky a brother as a witness.

We can try and look backwards to move forwards.

There is a birth for an Ileen Geddes in Scotland in 1940.

I think you want the marriage certificate to find out any background information on James.

That birth was in 1944, whilst the death claims birth 1940.

Yeah that's the one iileen leonie Poulton I think she was born in Birmingham but was bought up in a children's home in Scotland

Hi we don't really have any information at all all I know is his name is James Poulton he married iileen Geddes in 1961. That could be about the right year for his birth year as my grandma was in the early 40's! I'm sorry I don't have much to go on at all! My dad was also born in 1961 his name is mark Poulton.
