Yes, I knew he was a twin but not sure what happened to Mary.....she was "around" in 1941 for sure.
Yes I know he left in 1952 for the Cape and that he was a hairdresser.
As far as I'm aware neither twin got married.

A tree on Ancestry has Murray and his sister in. They have a picture of Murray's grave stone which reads:

In Loving Memory of
Murray Lyndhurst Maxwell
22 July 1913
1 Des 1986
Rest in Peace

Death is listed as South Africa.

They have no further info for his sister Mary Edith Dorothy Maxwell
