No, I'm not seeing his birth either. But wonder, as he joined the navy so young (the earliest date I can see on the distorted navy record is 1879) whether he was an orphan and in a home or school. There's no sign of him on 1871 census. |

Ancestry and FMP both claim to have Northern Ireland births up to 1958, but I doubt this is correct - I can't see any Belfast births from the late 1930s. So it may be why we can't find her birth. |

If you check out freebmd for the 2 Southampton births, you'll find one before Eileen and one later. So if Eileen was born in between then it looks like she was the only one born in Ireland. |
