I think the problem we have, we don't know Sarah's parents or her fathers occupation. My ancestors, from around the same time or slightly earlier, moved between ship-yards for work - with children born England, Ireland and Scotland. Southampton is a port as is Belfast - so Sarah could have been in Scotland in 1911, which is only available on Scotland's People. |

Yes it has been interesting, but I doubt if the marriage cert will reveal much - I really doubt he knew his parentage. Only appears on 1881 census as a boy in the navy, then again in 1901. Not really much to go on. Maybe the naval record would reveal more - although I doubt it. |
