Robert white married annie Carr,or Kerr circa 1944,possibly Dumfries area of Scotland

I don't see any such marriage in the whole of Scotland 1940-50, Neil.

These are the only marriages of a Robert White (or variant) to an Annie (or variant) 1940-50. None of them is in Dumfries-shire. the nearest geographically would be the one in Ayr:

1944 WHITE ROBERT ROY

1948 WHITE ROBERT SHAW ANNIE CAMPBELL SHETTLESTON GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/01 0799

1945 WHITE ROBERT ALLISON CAMPBELL ANNIE LEWIS POLLOK GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/18 0264

1949 WHITE ROBERT GEORGE BAIKIE ANNIE SINCLAIR HILLHEAD GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/13 0478

1940 WIGHT ROBERT HOOD ANNIE MCQUATER AYR /AYR 578/01 0072

Even if we found their marriage, it would be impossible to tell which of the many White births might be their children, (or at least not without spending a fortune on buying all the birth certs) as it's not possible to factor in the mother's maiden name to the search for such recent births on ScotlandsPeople. Nor can you view the cert images online for such recent births.
