Hello,
Diane is my Mum and I know Alexander and we have added our details on the contact register. Our best option would be to pay someone to do the research but it costs £1800 and that is just not an option at present, unfortunately. We will just have to hope that someone will try and look for is one day.

If she hasn't already your mother should add her name to the Adoption Contact Register

As you rightly assume, as she was adopted she will be known by another name.

As long as she gives permission, add your mother's name to your tree along with that of her parents and other related relatives. If they've been adopted, there is no problem is adding them in their birth names.

That way the names can be found in a search - use the search trees function (top right) to search other peoples trees for the same names and send a message to anyone who has them listed

Hello,
I am looking for Barbara Barnes who was born 27th February 1940 in Dorchester. Dorset. Her mother was Hazel Veronique Kathleen Barnes. Barbara was adopted as a baby so her surname would have been changed and it is possible that she may have been given a new Christian name by her adoptive parents. Barbara is the half sister of my Mum and we have been searching for her for many years without success. We would love to hear from her and reunite our family.
