Hi Guys,
Its been a long time since i posted a message so i hope i have managed to post it on the right board. And that i have put in the right information.

I am trying to find a living members of my husbands family from Scotland, i have managed to find a lot of the family tree from Scotland's people, but as i get closer to a living person the records are harder to find, and i have less information.
My husband is looking for his dad Andrew Wilkie who move to Wales from Beath, Fife, in Scotland in the 1960's and he lost contact with all of his family.
Andrew is the son of Alex Wilkie 1916-1991 and Jean, Andrew's grandparents were Andrew Wilkie 1887-1955 and Margaret Cumming 1886-1963. Andrew had some aunts and uncles i know of these are Jessie Cumming Wilkie marriage John Wilson, Mary Wilkie marriage Thomson emigrated possibly New Zealand, John Wilkie, Andrew Wilkie, and Peter Wilkie marriage Isabella Herd.

If anybody recognizes these names i would love to hear from you, and i hope to reunite my father-in-law with a family member.

Kindest regards to all
Heidi

It'd unlikely a family member will just come across your enquiry

Look in search trees to see if anyone has any of the family listed then try to make contact through the find out more box

Have you looked on the electoral rolls for dad Andrew Wilkie or are you saying you are looking on behalf of Andrew for HIS siblings etc

Do you have Alex's DC? Does the name and address of the informant help you?

Do you know the year and place of birth for his aunts and uncles? As you haven't mentioned them, should assume that Andrew didn't have any siblings, or if he did that he is in contact with them or their descendants?

'Search all member trees' can be found under the 'search' button.

Ensure that your tree is on here, so that anyone searching can find the links.

In which year was Andrew born?

Was he divorced from your husband's mother?

Or did they not marry?

There are marriages in Wales for the name from 1969 onwards

Hi all thank you so much for your replies, andrew my father in law only had one sibling that died in infancy and he is buried with Alex. Andrew has been married a 4 times and has 6 children including my husband. I was hoping to reunite him with a cousin, his memory of the family is very small as he was 13 when he moved to wales and stayed with friends of his dads and he never moved back to scotland. I have some years of births for his auntie and uncles listed, I will check them now and post back in a minute. I have tried contacting a few people on genes that have andrew's grandmother maggie Cumming listed in their tree, but over the last few months have not received a reply. Just hoped that someone may just be scrolling that may come across this post. Thank you all for taking the time to reply and I will get back shortly with the dates xx

So you know a lot more than your original message suggested................

If Andrew's only sibling died in infancy, your husband simply does not have any paternal cousins.

Or are you looking for ANDREW's cousins?

Mort Report 19 Jun 2014 13:11

This is so hard as they have all the same names andrew Wilkie 1908 beath fife, Peter Wilkie 1912 beath, fife and Jessie Wilkie 1932 lochgelly, fife. My father in law also remembers he had an aunt called isabella Wilkie but I can not locate a birth for her, he believe that she married Robert Robinson and a son john Robinson, but as I have no dates I have tried to stick with what I can prove. I have the marriage certificate for Mary Wilkie somewhere but at the moment can not find it. I am waiting Alex's dc, I hope this will shed some light. Thank you all again for your replies xxx

Your post is rather misleading....................

My husband is looking for his dad Andrew Wilkie who move to Wales from Beath, Fife, in Scotland in the 1960's and he lost contact with all of his family.

I read that as a search for ANDREW..............and I don't imagine I'm alone in that

Did you mean to say that you are searching ON BEHALF OF Andrew?

Sorry Reggie, yes I'm looking for Andrews paternal cousin's. I've found all his maternal cousin in Australia. I know it sounds strange but I tried to stick to a straight line as I go back a generation nearly everybody is called andrew, and I would have confused everybody including myself hahaha. I know quite a bit of the family tree till I get to Andrews paternal cousin, and it's very difficult to trace them then as again the family names keep repeating themselves. And I end up lost again. Xx

I'm so sorry Reggie, I can see my mistake there and how I've mislead everyone all I can do is apologise. I should have put my husband and his dad andrew are looking for their family. I'm so sorry again x

Andrew's aunt Jessie died 2006.
Maybe one of her children (if she had any) was the informant. If so, his/her address in 2006 will be on the death cert. Might help??

2006 WILSON JESSIE CUMMING Not Permissible WILKIE F 73 COWDENBEATH /FIFE 430/00 0054

Same applies to her husband's death cert:

2008 WILSON JOHN JOYCE Not Permissible M 83 COWDENBEATH /FIFE 430/00 0326
