Find Living Relatives

I am looking for my half sister with the above name,she was born in Motherwell Scotland in August 1970.
I am her half sister jackie,living in Leeds. her mother was called Elizabeth Mullen was mac farlane.
please any information would be great... :-)

if she lives in Scotland then look on Scotlands People for any possible marriage.

If you are related through your dad then look for any possible marriage for her mum through the same site

As new member, you probably don't realise that its against the site's T&C to give the full date of birth for a living person - the boards aren't secure and the details could lead to identity theft.

Because of that, it would be a really good idea to edit your post and remove Janet's DAY of birth. Some members might even suggest only leaving the year.

Does Janet have a middle name? What surname is she likely to be using? Is one a married name?

Half the trouble is that we don't know which country she's likely to be living in, or if her surname is one of those you know about.

Have you ever had contact and if so how long ago & where?

English and Welsh marriages would be on the GRO index. You can access those on this site, findmypast, or Ancestry all of whom make a charge. Ancestry can usually be accessed for free at most libraries.

There is only one marriage for a Janet Gilroy in England, and thats in 1986, so unlikely to be hers. On the other hand there are 48 results for a Janet Gould up to 2005, some with a middle name or initial

Once we can establish her current surname, then we can look at the Electoral Rolls either in this site, findmypast, or 192.com. If she is married, then it helps to know the husband's forenames, or the names of children aged 18 or over. The children in particular might be on Facebook or other social networking sites.

From the little I know and have researched,she was born Janet Gould but we believe May have take the surname gilroy as a child by her then careers.
I have located her birth and this is correct,I have also found a marraige to a Douglas John Bingham!I have located hi on Facebook!messages him nothing .
I believe she is still in Scotland but am not 100percent help... :-(

There are two addresses for them one has her as Gilroy then as Bingham so. Must be after they married

They are on the electoral roll to 2007 .they may still be at the same address but opted out .
