I have tried connecting to Tim Heath on facebook and others in the Heath family on Ancestry but it seems that for some reason they are unable to connect up with my messages, is it because I do not have the world subscriptions on Ancestry and they want money on Facebook and my credit/debit card number to be able to connect with Tim Heath, is it safe to give card details out on Facebook. Seems that the people in Australia just won't pick up on my messages. Any ideas please,I so want to find the family of Jack Heath killed 1943 Holland

I wonder if the sister Moira had a daughter also named Moira who went with her mother to visit the grave. Jacks sister may have been too old or infirm to travel alone. The Facebook entry that Fairthorn founds seems to be worth following up

I personally wouldn't use my credit card details on Facebook. I do have Ancestry Worldwide if I can be of any help let me know

You don't need to pay to send messages on facebook....is there an option to send a friend request? as if he is not your friend any message will go to his 'Other' folder and may not be noticed.

As for ancestry it doesn't matter whether you are a premium, essential or world wide subscriber the message would be sent as long as they have not changed their email address

Hi Wendy. I really would appreciate it is you could connect to anyone in the Heath family, I do not need to have Worldwide on Ancestry because I have completed my tree, only do it now for friends as a hobby. Many thanks for you advice not to pay for facebook because it did concern me. I am sure that it was Moira nee Heath that visited her brother Jacks grave, yes she must be well into her 80's and most probably felt she had to see his grave. The message on the card definitely said. Found you at last my darling brother Jack. Moira. They is a visitors book at Jonkrrbos War Cemetery, looked in it but she had not written anything , pity because she possibly could have left an address. As stated 5 of the crew Australians, 1 from Rhodesia, my father the only English man aboard the Lancaster. Just need to let Moira know her brother will not be forgotten by my family, that we go every year and place flowers on all the 7 crews graves. Any help will be appreciated. Best regards. John Lewis

Thanks Jax for the info. I did send a friends request on Facebook to Tim Heath but he has not replied, Maybe because he doesn't know me he is ignoring my message.

Message sent via Ancestry to someone who has a private tree on Ancestry with Jack in it. The owner has the same surname as Jacks mothers maiden name. Hope he's still a member and that he replies

Hi Wendy. Good news I have had contact from Tim Heath, he found a message on FB that I had posted to someone who, lives in his town and he contacted me half hour ago to say Jack Heath was his Uncle. Thank you so much for your help Wendy also to the other kind people who replied to my request. One happy chap. Best regards. John

Can anyone on here remember what I posted on 8 May 2014, 21:00, that necessitated it being rr'd?

Did anyone notice when it was done?

Thanks

Sorry Patchem - no and no.

As you don't post exact dates of birth for living people, or give other than links as a way to contact them, someone must have been over-sensitive when they reported it. You'll have to wait until at least Monday until GR make a decision!

I can't remember either as I only read through page one and started contributing on page two. I do know that there was nothing in it to contravene T & C's.

I was going to add the message from the relative on Ancestry to this thread for the benefit of other helpers but it had his email address on it so I thought better of it. I think that now the poster has it he is going to make direct contact with him.

Somrtimes it is very hard to help someone move forward, or backward, when posts are reported for no reason.

Thanks to you both for comments - I frequently skip over page 1, do not know why I looked today.

I have, on a previous unrelated thread, been rr'd for posting a birth date - which I had got from the death information, and was asking if it fitted with what the poster knew.

But the current rr'ing could be about anything, because the person who did it did not bother to explain their actions.

Thank-you
