the spouse's surname in that 1969 marriage has been misread ... took me ages ... starts with H not M

but I can't find a birth for her ... and if she was previously married I can't find it ... so can't find any births to that marriage

(other than births with the mother's surname that is the surname in the 1969 marriage but that are in very different parts of England)

I found the marriage on find my past which looks correct....not seeing them together on the electoral roll either...could of left the country I suppose

oh no ... you have marked this as 'answered' Ted and that means people will think you don't need help ...

jax try the experiment ?

copy what is in the 'answered' post, delete that post, and add the content at the beginning of your next post

and see whether that removes the 'answered' mark from the thread in the board list ...

otherwise maybe Ted can add 'not answered yet' or something to the subject line by editing it :-)

instead of marking something 'answered' just post a reply here in the thread, Ted

use the blank box down at the bottom of the messages and click Submit

(jax I was using good old Ancestry which has the spouse's name wrong)

jax Report 13 Apr 2014 20:05

Have you bought the death cert for his father to see if he registered it?

Yes I also used Ancestry until it didn't give a choice of spouse

jax

jax Report 13 Apr 2014 20:23

Edward

Yes we have got that far as well

So you could purchase the marriage cert to see if Olive had been married before

or

purchase his fathers death cert to see if he registered it and maybe giving an address where living in 1985

http://www.gro.gov.uk/GRO/content/certificates/default.asp

£9.25 each

Joonie

Deleting the post that has been ticked doesn't seem to make any difference
