Find Living Relatives

I am hoping to find living descendants of Lewis Davey who lived in Railway Street Roath Cardiff South Wales, in the early 1900's, as I hope a descendant will be able to give me some information about Catherine Mackays family.

Could you give us some more information about the Mackays - how are you related and what have you found out about them?

Hi.......At this moment, I believe Catherine is my great grandmother. I know she and her children moved from Monmouth, in 1901, to Theobald street in Canton, Cardiff, then she moved from there, to Gilestone street, but died in 1904, and it was her brother-in-law, Lewis Davey, whose name is on her death certificate. She had a son, John, and the woman from Australia who contacted us, says she believes John, is my grandfather, the man that we have been researching. I just need to prove whether or not this John is my grandfather. Thankyou so much for your help.

Hi...we've got the above informat tion thankyou.......the mystery arises, because the lady in Australian seems to think that Catherine and husband, are my great grandparents, and that one of her children, John, is my grandfather., as his birth date, and my grandfather's, is the same. However, on my grandparents marriage certificate, it says that John was born in Scotland, and his fathers name is Hector. I did put all that on my previous search post.....re..McKay and Harris, which you helped me with. At this moment, I am trying to establish the right parentage of my grandfather, which is very difficult.
Lewis Davey was Catherine's brother-in-law, it seems she stayed at his home when she became ill. I just thought one or more of Lewis's descendants, may have some passed down information of Catherine's child, John, we know all about her other children.

I was just Googling about, on Sites about Daveys, Hopkins's and Machen where my Mam was born in ....wiat for it ! ! ....1899....!
I am a Great Nephew of Lewis Davey, born 1862, According to my Resaerch , he had four brothers and three sisters :- Mary 1864;John 1866; Catherine 1869 ; Elizabeth 1871,( My Gran) ; Annie 1876 and Daniel 1880.
I have gained some interesting " stuff" about my Daveys, who married into the Hopkins Clan, but nothing on the MacKays.....I am GRAHAM on my Father's side ( a Descendant of a Border Reiver ! ! )
I', more than happy to exchange notes about the Daveys, such as what info. I have on them. The only definite thing I know about Gr.Unc.Lewis ( whom my son is named after) taught himself to speak Japanese, by Correspondenc , according to my late Mam, and was considered fluen when he died in his " late 80's".Look forward to hearing from you at [email protected]; in case that is later rather than sooner , all the Best for Christmas.
