John Downie moved back and forth to Nigeria 1917/26, on one of the incoming passenger lists he states last permanent residence as Scotland - so I was wondering the same, was the other child born Scotland. |

In 1965 Sophia and John G Falconer were living 10 Hounslow Avenue - they were also there in 1963, which confirmed her initials as Sophia M E D. They could be cousins, but not sure. |

Dr Dora Janet Burman Savage (née Falconer), born 11th March 1911 in Colmbrook, nr London. Passed away in her sleep in the early hours of 18th December 2010. Dora Savage graduated from the Royal Free Medical School and went on to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 1942. Dr Savage had an eventful career serving in the RAMC in East Africa during the War, treating wounded soldiers from the Far East, ending up with the rank of Lt. Col., and later working with her husband Dr Richard Savage in Nigeria. She will be missed by all those who knew her. The Funeral will take place at Mortlake Crematorium Monday 17th January 2011 11 a.m. Donations in lieu of flowers to Nazareth House, Hammersmith, would be appreciated in gratitude for the excellent care she received there in her final years. |
