When she came to see me I have just remembered she mentioned she had a brother and she was convinced he had used her name to get his girlfriend medical care :-)

I have just proved the Evelyn who lived at 123 Balgores lane was born 1927 and Clifford and Florence were her parents

Have you looked at the probate Clipping I sent?

When I went to st katherines house back in late 1970 there was only one evelyn mary Riley on the register :-)

On the wedding certicate that I have the father is fredrick riley and I believe the mother was margaret

I was told she was an unmarried mother of 16and girs/women were at that time sent away from their own home town by their parents to give birth then give the child up for adoption and return home and also I was told that Denmark nursing home was run by Canadian nurses for Canadian fathered children whether this is actual I have no way of knowing all I know there were Canadian troops billited around the area at the time

Tree on ancestry says she sadly died in 2009

The tree owner looks to be a granddaughter of Evelyn

Looks like they only had one daughter in 1955

So contact Romford Library to see who was living at 123 Balgores lane in 1948 as I doubt she was living on her own....her parents may have sent her to surrey to have you.

But as I have posted a census's of the father of Evelyn born 1927 living very close to that address with a family business being a Grocer it looks more likely to me

And the story that I was told that she was 16 so possibly her parents sent her away to have the chid as it wasnt the done thing for an unmarried girl/woman to have a child out of wedlock :-(

All I know is that she came from gidea park to have me in redhill Surrey as the birth certificate and my adoption papers give her address as that :-(

And as she was only 16when she had me counting back takes me to 1932 :-) and when another peson looked this up a little while ago it was the same names up in Nottingham that seems to keep coming up

Well my birth certificate definitely states my mother was evelyn mary Riley a green grocers assistant and the address was 123 balgores lane gidea park essex and my adoption paper from the juvenile courts in Sutton definitely state my mother was evelyn mary Riley address of 123 balgores lane gidea park essex
