Hi folks.
Thanks for the various morsels. Gives me some food for thought, I reckon.
I've checked FreeBMD, andd Florence is indeed recorded on her death certificate as 37, not 40. However, this does not tally with her baptism record (Cardiff St John, 1876).
As far as death records suggested by Reggie are concerned, they look to be good possibilities. As to the death I suggested for Albert Webber, I hadn't assumed it definitely WAS him - I was merely suggesting it COULD be.
All the best guys. I assure you that your efforts ARE fully appreciated, even if I don't always manage to respond promptly.

Have you actually looked in 'search all trees'? Two possible entries for William H..............neither of which is yours.
If you want to make connections on this site, you need to put your tree on here

Buy Florence's death cert............informant's details may prove helpful
The birth of the chap whose death you have posted
Births Dec 1900 (>99%) Webber Albert Henry Cardiff 11a 294
It's a bit risky to assume that the death relates to the man who married Florence...........you need to get the marriage cert, to find out how old he was..........

Hi folks.
patchem - I don't have any certificates for this branch of the family, because they are only related by marriage. I'm just trying to get the tree completely up-to-date. As to the spelling of the surname, it's spelt as RENDLE both on the 1911 census and on FreeBMD's transcription of the marriage record, where Florence's surname is splet BALE instead of BEALE.
Reggie - I concur with you about the possible death for Florence. It appears possible that her husband may have died young:
Deaths Sep 1934 (>99%) Webber Albert H 33 Cardiff 11a 284
I know he is listed as plain Albert on the marriage index, but I think this could be him.
FreeBMD appears not to list any children from either sister's marriage - I've treied searching with various splellings of the mothers' maiden surname.

The 1911 census has him born in Ilfracombe.
Is this his birth?
Births Dec 1869 Rendall William Henry Barnstaple 5b 484
In your original posting you gave his surname as RENDLE.
In what records does he use this spelling of his surname, and what certificates have you got?
Thank-you

Hi patchem
I had thought that this might have been Lilian's death record. Maybe someone did get her age wrong.
As for her father, I'm having second thoughts as to whetehr he did actually go back to Devon. I've just found the following on FreeBMD;
Deaths Mar 1930 (>99%) Randell William H 61 Cardiff 11a 513
Could it be that the surname was misheard by the registrar, or simply mis-spelled on his death record? The age of this individual tallies perfectly with the age William gives on the 1911 census. I have no clue as to whether he re-married.
You are right on the money with the births of the girls.

Have you looked to see if anyone else on genes has these people in their trees?
Have you got accurate dates of birth for the daughters?
Do you know if William married again?
Thank-you

Hi everyone.
I'm trying to trace any living descendents of William Henry RENDLE and Florence B(E)ALE, who married in Cardiff in 1896 and had daughters Lilian, Florence, Jessie and Gladys.
Florence B(e)ale died in 1916, aged 40. I believe her husband may have returned to his native Devon after she died. Of their daughters, Florence married Albert Webber and Jessie married Ronald Harris. I've found no marriege for Lilian to date, and Gladys died aged 8 in 1918.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as I would like to get my family tree bang up to date.
Many thanks, Ben
