Hey Jax,
Thanks for the update. Based on your info a lovely person named Deborah has located a 3rd Cousin twice removed. Lynda has shown me her family tree doesn't seem to be her wottons. Deborah seperately gave me a name of Chris Wotton from Gravesend (as there are a lot of Wottons in Gravesend). from her own contacts Chris Wotton manages one of the six trees I sent info request to! The hunt continues.# Will update as I get closer.
Best,
J

I gather, from the comments, the info given by Jax isn't related to your Wooton's so researchers can focus their efforts elsewhere looking for them?

Hi ,
Newbie so go easy. I have recently found some original letters (5) from Thomas to Elizabeth in a history book purchased at car boot sale. I am looking to locate a living relative of either Thomas or Elizabeth to pass these wonderful letters on to.
The information I have and tried to date is as follows: They were written by Thomas Wotton to his wife Elizabeth Wotton (nee Crea) being the maiden name. Thomas was killed in action and was buried in the Huts cemetary, Belgium.
I would dearly love to find and give these letters to some member of the Wotton-Crea Family. I have tried unsucessfully to locate any member of the Family. They had no children in their short married life. I have written to their last known address, the local chemist for that area, Portsmouth Museum and also the persons whom the history books were bought from.
> Extra Information: > Thomas Edwin Wotton, Sergeant, Royal Garrison Artillery, 179 Siege Bty, > Aged 30, Date of Death: 11/08/1917 > Service number : 24063, son of the late William Wotton of Kent, Husband of > Elizabeth Agnes Wotton of 30 Highland Road, Eastney, Southsea, Portsmouth. > Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead > Grave Memorial Reference: II.B.20.
Thomas & Elizabeth were married at the end of 1914 and there was no children registered to them. Thomas was born in Kent and was possibly in Portsmouth because of the army. He enlisted in Chatham and his normal place of residence was shown as Rochester in Kent.
Elizabeth Crea may have been born in Ireland. Elizabeth was a lodger at 30 Highland Road and although she was there in early 1920s she had left by 1926. I don't know if she remarried.
If i should be doing something else also please let me know.
Thanks,
James
