Harry seems to have had a daughter with his first wife ... unfortunately the wife's name is spelt incorrectly two different ways in the marriages index

(first wife died 5 years before Harry and Marjorie married)

re the 1947 Hammersmith birth

there is a marriage for the two surnames (not the couple this thread is about) a year earlier

it would have been inappropriate to post those birth details if they were relevant to this couple (people really may not want the details of their and their parents' intimate personal lives discussed or speculated about on the internet)

... but in this case it is the details of someone completely unrelated

so maybe that birth info could be deleted now?

Thanks very much for bringing this to my attention. I had in fact noticed this morning that Harry had left a will and I'm just debating whether to order it for £10 online. I have still not made contact with the daughter as I'm sure she did not have a daughter with my grandfather and I've been unable to work out if she was previously married - pretty common name Marjorie Taylor. She was not married to my grandfather (would have been bigamous as he was still married to my grandmother). On her marriage certificate to Harry Voakes in 1989 she says that her previous marriage was dissolved - another mystery - was there a 1st marriage or was she ever married before marrying Harry (she was living with my grandfather in Bognor at his death in 1978).

Since you started this thread, the Probate Calendar has been placed on line. Harry left a Will which could be ordered via this site - you'll have to repeat the search

mathamatically if Norman Kidson separated from his wife in 1947 then Marjorie would have been c41 so probably didnt have the child with Norman

Although Harry probably registered Marjories death, it might have been another relative. Even if you only bought Harry's DC, the informant might have some family knowledge about her presumed daughter.

As you've been a member for a number of years, you probably know where to purchase certificates.

You could check with the Probate office to see if she left a Will naming her. They would make a search once you have details of her (Marjories) Place of Death. I think it costs £6 but they don't tell you if there is no result!

I am trying to find out information about the above who was born in Redcar, Yorkshire in 1906 or 1907, daughter of George Everitt Taylor and Victoria. She was living with my grandfather Norman Howard Kidson in the 1970s and is described as his wife Marjorie Honor Kidson on his death cert in Worthing, Sussex in 1978. I believe she subsequently married Harry Voakes and was living in Bognor.

I understand she may have had a daughter and I am interested in finding our about the last years of my grandfather's life (he separated from his wife in 1947). Any information would be much appreciated.
