Unfortunately I cant be sure of that but I get the impression she was a local girl. I've had a push now and am seeing his friend on Friday so will see if I can find out more

You say he was on holiday there....was the girl local or could she have been a holiday maker too?

Wow Jan - thanks for that idea. I'm seeing Daves friend on the 25th to see if there is any additional info at all and if not will have a go at your idea - I lose nothing by trying at the end of the day and I have bags of patience! Really appreciate the assistance. Sandra

Hi Sandra.
Aside from getting more information, there is another approach - negligible chance of success, but who knows!
Brace yourself.
I have had a look on Ancestry, and assuming the area/years are correct, there were only 57 births in Llanelly (correct spelling for this time) 1982-85. Obviously you can reduce the time frame if you feel confident.
As you are almost certainly looking for an illegitimate birth, you can further narrow these down to births where surname and mother's maiden name are the same. There aren't many on 1st glance.

Dave was just on a holiday - we had a caravan down there and on this occasion he went for a holiday by himself.
I was thinking of going to go back to the person who gave me the original information and I agree with you Jan I do need to do that - so thanks for the push. This person wasn't friends with Dave at the time - not until years later but Dave obviously told him. I do think its credible though as I asked my mum about it and she remembers receiving some calls around the time from a girl trying to reach him.
I know this is an extreme long shot - was hoping that posting on here would somehow interface with the Internet so if anyone ever did a search this would come up.
I simply want to reassure myself that my niece/nephew is okay.
What will be will be I guess.

Just a thought (you may already have explored it) why was David in Wales at that time, working, living etc...maybe if you could come up with someone who was with him/knew him around then, they might remember something...

A long shot but might be worth a stab...

Chances of anybody who knows the info you seek seeing this are pretty much nil unfortunately. Does the person who gave you the information know anything else whatsoever that might help you?

Hi my brother David Evans known as Dave died in 2012. After his death I learnt that when he was 18 he had a child with a girl he met in Llanelli. Wales and that she had his child. I have no further details as I understand he had no contact with her but would like to locate the child who I believe may have been born 1983-1984, so the child would be about 29yrs old now. If you can help please get in contact. Thanks.
