Hello again,
I have contacted Margaret Jeffries and she said that she thinks that the Marie Bennett who lived with the Jeffries family would have been born about 1931-2. She was evacuated from Birmingham to Wilderhope Manor near Church Stretton Shropshire via a scheme set up by Cadburys Children's Homes from Birmingham. I wonder if there was any link between Cadburys and Fairbridge Farm Schools? The Jeffries family wanted to adopt Marie but were told that even though she was in the Cadbury Home, she had a father and he wanted her to be sent overseas. She was pulled screaming from the arms of the Jeffries family and they could find out nothing about her from that day to this.We have tried to find out things before, but in vain. We keep trying as more information is revealed. Thank you anyway

I am looking for a Marie Bennett from the Birmingham/ Midlands area. She was born about 1932. She was sent out of the city during World War 2 to live with a Jeffries family in Shropshire. Margaret Jeffries is now in her 80's and would dearly love to know if Marie is still alive. She thinks that Marie may have been sent to Canada to live but is not sure. Is there anyone out there who knows anything that might help?
