There is NO second initial for Frances on her marriage record (1971)

I have been researching my family tree for about 3yrs now and always come to a dead end with Francis Elizabeth Mckinley,b.about 1931, i do know she married in 1971 to Peter Frederick Norton and had a daughter Marie Norah in 1972 and i believe they live/lived in the Suffolk/Essex area

Frances is my childrens paternal grandmother.
I have not been able to find a marriage between her and my late father in law, James Alexander Murray 1921 in Glasgow,d. 1996 in Bury st Edmunds. I found her name via their sons birth records, (they had 3 sons,James Alexander b.1961,John Houston b.1963 and Ian Martin b. 1967).
All he would tell me was her name and that she had remarried , as i had i great deal of respect for him i never asked him for any information whilst i had the chance.
I have been to my local records office and the information i have gathered has been sourced from there.

So what do you have to back-up your idea that the woman you seek is the one who married Norton?

The absence of a second name on the marriage record and on the ER should surely cause you to question your assertion.

You say that she was born c1931.............have you looked for proof?

If she was, it wasn't in England/Wales

i believe she was born in Ireland

Im sorry if this makes me sound abit stupid but why would a birth be re-registered ?, i just assumed the date difference was due to them moving around the london area and on to Bury st Edmunds and it getting lost in transit somewhere

I was told by somebody that knows the family that Frances had an affair with Peter before leaving James Snr, i also remember her passing a letter via Ian to James Jnr regarding meeting up with her so that she could meet her new granddaughter,(my eldest), but he refused the invitation, Ian was still seeing her on occasions and also mentioned that she lived in the sudbury area, it just seems too much of a coincidence, but i do realise i have to tread carefully in case it is the wrong Frances and if it is the correct Frances she is elderly now and i do not wish to cause any upset
