Yes it is. I don't know any specific names as I am unsure who travelled to other countries.. But I am currently focusing on SHEARS, KNOWLES, HILLS/HIL AND KEMBLE surnames

It's really impossible to search for a surname without a first name and have any certainty they are connected to you. Just for an example you can see here the various queries on the name, and locations.

and don't forget the people may have altered the spelling over the centuries.

Google is a great way of finding what research has been done by others, you may get lucky and find someone has already found who the first Kemble in the US was?

You'd be better to concentrate on researching in the UK before attempting to research further afield.

Get as much factual info as you possibly can on your various lines................then work out exactly which of the family members are 'missing' from records, and start then to look for them in other countries

As your Kemble query relates to a story you've been told about possible links to migrants in the 18th century, you've quite a way to go before you get back that far.............

I WOULD LOVE TO FIND THE DAWSON FAMILY IN AUSTRALIA MY AUNT MAVIS WENT OUT THERE WITH HER TWO GIRLS WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG.
