Did your dad have lots of siblings? There are several Brett/Parker births in Shoreditch district. |

Just to let you all know my Dads birth cert arrived today..it reads Henry John Brett b. 1911 to parents Henry John Brett and Janet Brett nee Parker, living at old Bethnal green road. Great to get that confirmed.......Regards Susan |

Thanks..sorry wasn't able to sign in over the past few days. All the above info is a great help. The birth cert hopefully will arrive soon. so really its when there is a father mentioned of the person you are tracing or getting a birth cert for is what you really need. Regards Susan |

If you got the info about his father from your parents' marriage cert, bear in mind that it may not be 100% accurate. |

On the marriage cert it says father is Henry John Brett retired Checker Timber merchant this was in 1952 when he was 41 no mention of father being dec'd |
