Is his marriage in 1871, as he would only be 17 at the time if born 1854?

I am trying to trace anyone who might be cousin's the line, it is a Birmingham familey who Great Granfather might be Jarius Curtis 1854 married to Sarah Holmes 1854.
The Curtis family was very large and I think somebody must have an Uncle or Grandfather with the name Jarius,also one off Jarius's daughter married Ernest Prottey and they had a son Jarrius I would love to trace any cousins that still live in the West Midlands area. :-
