I'm seeking ancestors of JOHN LEONARD POWELL, DFC. Possibly living in the Cardiff area. They handed his medals into the RAF Museum in London in the 1970s. John Leonard was with the 617th squadron (Dambusters Unit) and died in 1945 when his plane was hit by flax. He was a squadron Leader. I think he had a brother Noel Powell. His parents were David & Elizabeth Powell of Rhos, Glamorgan. Elvira Powell. [email protected] |
