It can't be his parents because they'd be too young. As far as I know his dad was called Noah. They were Romany gypsies so I might not have correct names.

Ah ! Noah was with them on the electoral roll .

I've got a feeling Noah married a cooper also, but can't remember where I found it now!

I really never knew there was a sister called Julie. The one you have suggested has 3 sons on facebook, i have contacted one of them, waiting for a reply. However i've just found a julie m lawrence who died in 1963, death registered in hammersmith. i'm wondering if she was still born or died as a baby.

Does anyone know how i can get someone's phone number online? i believe i've found vanslow's son, michael g lawrence, who lives in colchester. i can't access results on 192 without registering/paying and don't really want to do that when i only intend on contacting him.

She is listed as Oachie on 23 electoral registers so it's doesn't appear to be a spelling mistake.

That's interesting about his mother, guess it must be right! I didn't know he had a brother called Swaley, but it's possible. My mum thought he had a brother called Michael, but someone on here corrected us, it was actually James or Jimmy. Where have you found Swaley? I'm a bit stuck now, because I'm not overly interested in anyone who has died, just want to find Vanslow or his children/grandchildren. I've messaged a few people on facebook but not had any replies yet, I guess people will be suspicious! Kim

Oachie wasnt showing on Ancestry other than for the electoral rolls but she is listed many times so it cant be a spelling mistake.

Wonder why that marriage record hasnt uplifted to Ancestr . strange "!!

Vanslows birth record shows mmn as Cooper so must be right ones.

I looked for A Lawrence /Cooper marriage and only came up with the one I posted

Trouble with facebook the notification does not come up unless you are a friend...you could try requesting to be a friend but leave a message....unless they know to look in the "Other" folder they may not see a message for months

Ancestry has Oachie down as Cachia Cooper.

Jax - the two main ones i have messaged on facebook both have it on their mobiles from what i can gather, so i'd imagine they will get a notification, fingers crossed :-)

Shirley - I would guess Noah and Oachie probably weren't really married. I think the other couple may be Noah's brother and Oachie's sister (in other words brothers married sisters). They were from a gypsy community so it's not impossible.

Rose - I am wondering if Swaley was Vanslow's cousin (Stanley's son), because I really don't think he had a brother with that name. I have searched on 192 and found Swaley from the 2002 electoral roll.

Can anyone see Oachie on an electoral roll after 1962? I know for a fact she lived on Beards Road in 1967 and I believe she was still there in 1982. It's so frustrating, I feel so close yet so far away!
