It does look very likely John is John Henry, but sadly it looks like he died age 16.

Nothing firm on Lily, either married LANE or died unmarried age 61.

Annie Ludlow b 1885 (cert). Married 1905 John Alfred Deakin (Prescot) .
d 1968 St Helens.

John Alfred Deakin d about 1939.

Other than 1911 census nothing else on John & Lilly Deakin,

Louis never spoke much about his family, my Dad remembers visiting relatives near the address in the 1911 census other family members. Most of the houses were knocked down 30+ years ago.

As you have already done a fair bit of research, addtional information would help

a Margaret M Lane married a Jack Hague in 1954 - St Helens

There is an announcement for a Jack Hague's death in 2007 in the Birkenhead area http://www.yourannouncement.co.uk/67222

However, the son mentioned was likely to be born in Sheffield 10 years after the marriage. Different family or the same??? He might also have a sister born 6 years after the marriage - record index on GR

Try search 192.com for the son and his named wife - it's pay to view - or face book for the relatives named on the announcement

To expand I am Louis Ludlows Grandson. I have data on Ludlow Ancestors back into 1700's. Annie Ludlows siblings have been difficult to find descendants from and being just over a 100 years ago records aren't public.

Annie married John and in the 1911 census they have John & Lilly. Both first and surnames are very popular in the area and the trail is lost very soon.

So any info on this branch will be very interesting, I might find a living relative from that side.

There is NO Woodward/Ludlow marriage between 1873 and 1939

Nor is there a Woodward/ Annie Deakin marriage

Taking a stab in the dark - Nigel might be descended from the Louis Ludlow on the 1911 or a different child born to Annie Ludlow before her marriage to John Deakin.

Louis was also born in St Helens

You refer to Annie as your great-grandmother, but do not suggest any relationship with either of her children.............
